2019 Chardonnay "Ada River"
About this wine
At 350 meters altitude you can find the vineyard Manilla, which is classified as the French clos because of its wall all around the vineyard!
Normally Patrick Sullivan’s wines are named after the vineyard itself, but for this wine he has used the name of the little lake, Ada River, which lies next to the vineyard. The Manilla vineyard was planted at the beginning of the 1980s on the volcanic soil and has been farmed biodynamically for many years now, though without certification.
Patrick has made a name for himself with his fantastic wines, most of which will remind you of a European style of the highest quality. The wines have a rare charm and balance that only the best winemakers can produce in the hot climate of Australia. Ada River has a minerality, complexity and a cool-climate expression beautifully combined with its vibrant acidity and freshness.
