2019 Chardonnay "Millstream"

About this wine

Australian Chardonnay is often referred to as too voluminous, too oaky and unbalanced in alcohol. This wine, the Millstream, will remind you of great white Burgundy wines! One of the best in the country, from a single volcanic vineyard in Victoria.

Patrick Sullivan is famous in his home country and is getting more and more recognition from the rest of the world for his high-level wines. It is rare to find such quality from Australian vineyards. In particular, his single vineyard wines made from Chardonnay has received a lot of attention. In this bottle, you will get a delicious wine of the same quality as in the mighty Burgundy, but for half the price.

Patrick Sullivan is situated in Gippsland in the state of Victoria, in the outskirts of Warragul. His wines are made from biodynamic vineyards planted in volcanic soil. The vinification is very old-school and, besides the biodynamic farming, everything is done without the use of machines. The wines are produced without any manipulation from additives, so all you get is the clean and honest taste of the grapes.

When the grapes are harvested, they are pressed using an old-school vertical press before being moved to old oak barrels to ferment. After the fermentation the wines are aged in the barrels for 12 months before bottling.
